TeleDerm or teledermatology is a branch of telemedicine (also known as telehealth). Medovate’s TeleDerm service allows you to connect remotely with Dr. Mann or Dr. Springer for a virtual dermatology consultation using our HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform.
How does TeleDerm work?
Your TeleDerm consultation will enable you to have face-to-face communication with your dermatologist by way of your smartphone, tablet or computer with a built-in camera or webcam. You will be able to show your areas of concern on your skin, get all your questions answered, and discuss your treatment plan—all from the comfort and convenience of your own home.
What are the benefits of TeleDerm?
Traditionally, a benefit of TeleDerm has been to allow patients in remote areas without dermatologists to have dermatology consultations. Today, TeleDerm allows patients to have dermatology consultations from their homes, while practicing social distancing measures made necessary for public health and safety, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
What is required?
All that you will need for your TeleDerm consultation is a smartphone, tablet or computer with a built-in camera or webcam, an Internet connection and a link to connect to your appointment, which our office will provide. Your TeleDerm appointments can be billed to your health insurance company.
